I’ve been writing off and on for twenty years–my first attempts were two plays, two screenplays, and two short stories (hmmm- not sure of the significance of that!). I was a reporter for a local newspaper (and also wrote a variety of columns), proofreader, editor, newsletter writer for a wildlife organization and writer of stage plays and screenplays. Two of my short stories made it to the finals of the 2017 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Award competition. I’m proud of my first published book, From Prompting to Shaping to Letting Go, and my first novel, Elanora and the Salt Marsh Mystery was published in March 2021.

What People Have Said About Writing

Toni Morrison
Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it’s the only way you can do anything really good.
William Faulkner
Write while the heat is in you. … The writer who postpones the recording of his thoughts uses an iron which has cooled to burn a hole with.
Henry David Thoreau
